Why Make a Gift of Stock
Giving a gift of appreciated stock is a powerful way to support our mission while potentially receiving significant tax benefits. A gift of stock can allow you to:
- Avoid paying capital gains tax on appreciated assets
- Receive a charitable income tax deduction for the full fair market value of the stock on the date of the gift
- Make a meaningful impact using assets you may not need immediately
Many donors find stock gifts to be one of the most tax-efficient ways to give. You may donate:
- Publicly traded stocks
- Bonds
- Mutual funds
- Stock gifts are irrevocable once transferred.
- For IRS purposes, we cannot assign a dollar value to your gift in our acknowledgment.
- Timing matters — market fluctuations and transfer processing can affect gift dates.
