ROUNDUP FELLOWSHIP
Position Title: Community Support Staff I (Full Time Position)
Department: Community Integrated Employment/Community Participation
Supervisory Functions: none
Supervised By: Community Support Staff III & Program Director
Job Summary: This person supports adults with developmental disabilities in accessing a wide variety of community activities, focusing on the interests and preferences of the participants including work and learning opportunities.
Duties/Responsibilities:
§ Uphold the mission and values, policies and procedures of Roundup Fellowship.
§ Work with designated program participants, as assigned by the Program Director.
§ Provide direct assistance, supervision, training and support needed by program participants for completion of activities of daily living (e.g. toileting, eating, personal hygiene, etc.).
§ Maintain a safe and clean environment including daily cleaning and care of agency vehicles and Roundup office area used by the program participants.
§ Participate in activities with the program participants.
§ Participate with the team in development and implementation of Individual Service and Support Plan.
§ Coordinate other resources as needed including support in arranging and/or directly providing transportation for participants.
§ Maintain frequent communication with supervisors.
§ Complete appropriate documentation on time as requested for assigned caseload.
§ Facilitate and monitor activities consistent with Individual Service Plan goals and objectives for assigned caseload.
§ Model and promote appropriate work behavior and responsible social interactions.
§ Other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
§ High school graduate (or equivalent) with one year experience with individuals with developmental disabilities OR
§ Two years of college level coursework with human service emphasis
§ Ability to read, write and speak the English language for required paperwork, testing and professional communication.
§ Ability to work in assigned environment
§ Reliable vehicle, valid Colorado Driver’s License and proof of insurance.
§ Satisfactory central registry and CBI records check.
Typical Physical and Mental Demands:
· Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching in providing support to clients with a variety of mobility challenges and client personal care assistance.
· May require the ability to lift 50 lbs. in lifting and transferring clients.
· Requires normal range of vision and hearing for adequately supervising clients.
· Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressure.
· Must be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety program participants with challenging behavior.
· Emotional stability and personal maturity are important attributes in this position.
